Most wineries for sale are a building and a business plan. Creek's Edge Winery in Lovettsville is a working operation, with the vineyard, the production winery and the event calendar already in place.

A building worth the drive

The winery is an Amish-built timber frame in the tradition of the raised barn. It is finished in local stone, black walnut harvested on the property and hand-forged metalwork. The tasting room seats up to 100 around a fieldstone fireplace and opens to a deck with vineyard views.

A silo built to mimic the inside of a wine barrel connects the tasting room, the upstairs loft and the cellar. Its handcrafted spiral staircase won a 2016 Signatures of Loudoun Design Excellence Award.

Production that conveys

The production winery sits directly beneath the tasting room, with a showcased barrel room. The production equipment and wine inventory convey with the sale. A buyer steps into a winery that is already making wine.

About 4.5 acres are under vine on the slope above the buildings. The vineyard was originally planted to Chambourcin, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

An event business already running

The covered pavilion has a high timber roof and a raised stage, and it holds up to 200 guests. Together with the front lawn, the tasting room deck, a bridal loft and a groom's den, it supports an established wedding and private event business. There are 60 parking spaces on site.

Room to grow

Two historic buildings add to the story. A restored 19th-century bank barn is ready for final finishing and could become a second event space. A separate 0.68-acre lot carries the historic Taylorstown General Store, now in disrepair and awaiting restoration.

The property totals 24.93 acres across three lots: two AR-1 parcels and one RC parcel, none under conservation easement. Catoctin Creek forms one boundary, and Washington, D.C., is about an hour away.
